About me… my name is Vinh Nguyen, and I like to make music!  I live in Georgia of the United States of America.  I want to create as many great songs as I can, because I really want to feel that next musical discovery within my bones.  In doing so, I want to share with you my love of music through the songs I’d created and want to make.

I name this blog as VinhCanDoMusic, because I can’t think of any other name for my blog.  Furthermore, many people who are Vietnamese American do have the same name as I which is Vinh Nguyen, and so this name is not easily be available for me to grab in the creation of a domain name and blog name.  In the end, I go with VinhCanDoMusic as the name for this blog.

Here is another thing of why I had named my blog as VinhCanDoMusic.  The blog name reminds me of how I started to make music in the first place.  How?  At first, I’d no interest in making music at all, because I wasn’t born to make music.  Then one day, out of the blue, I found Cakewalk’s Music Creator 6 Touch, and my love of making music began from using this beginner software for music creation.  Nonetheless, I wasn’t great at making any music from the start even with the help of Cakewalk’s Music Creator 6 Touch.  Perhaps, after making so many bad music I’m now able to make better music.  With the advancement of my usage in musical software such as Cakewalk’s Sonar Platinum and many third party VSTs, my music creation/mixing progress had been improved by a lot.  By familiarizing myself with music theory, I think making music is somewhat easier for me now.

Writing music for me is not about making a schedule to sit down and start writing, because if I do this nothing good will come out from me.  Instead, I rely on any special moment, word, phrase, incident or a thought in which suddenly music making/writing just click in my head and I would be able to sit down and pour lyrics out as if water would break out of a dam.  Even then, during the music making process I still have to adjust the lyrics so the whole song can be even more polished.  The mixing process sometimes can be a mess, and sometimes after finishing a song I would feel worse for fearing it is not good enough.  Anyhow, the whole mixing music part is quite messy sometimes.  The mastering part is scary too.  I’m doing all of this on my own, and so I won’t be able to produce good music as people who have a team behind him or her.

There you go, now you know a bit more about me.  Why don’t you take a tour of this music blog and check out my other tracks.
